NGC 4699 is a very tightly wound spiral galaxy with the hint of a bar-like structure in its nucleus. At a distance of 60 million light years away, it resides at the outskirts of the Virgo Cluster of galaxies. Though small, this galaxy is quite bright and makes a good target for amateur astronomers.
