NGC 6712 is an enormous swarm of stars in the southern constellation Scutum. It is located at a distance of about 23,000 light-years, in the direction towards the Galactic Center. This cluster is of spherical form and contains somewhat fewer than 1 million stars, all of which are lighter than our Sun.
